OUR HISTORY

On the occasion of the declaration of Vila-real’s Three Kings parade as a festivity of provincial tourist interest, we received our first bespoke commission from the town hall, so we decided to create a striking iron dromedary made by our friends at DeFerro. The commission was a great success, and once or twice a year, the dromedary continues to travel around Spain!

After Marat/Sade there were doubts about which way to go. We loved the line of work we had opened but it was unsustainable, and we wanted to go on tour, to take to the streets, so we decided to do something we loved. : Get on stilts! And with these ingredients THE WOLVES was born: live music, stilts, taking to the streets and being a hooligan, but with a lot of funk!

At the end of 2016, we received one of the most beautiful orders we could have received. The Valencia City Council entrusted us with the Three Kings parade in Valencia. The challenge is to give it its own identity, creating a unique and singular spectacle.

We worked very hard to achieve this, turning the parade into a great travelling spectacle with original characters that will accompany the arrival of their majesties the kings of the east to Valencia.

The great success we achieved allowed us to continue working on the development of the ride for the next 6 years until 2023, which was the last year in which we led the ride.

With a lot of iron behind us, we travelled to San Pedro del Pinatar for the premiere of our incredible Odysseus boat.

But not all productions turn out well… and after a very, very hard premiere, we decided to suspend the possible tour of the show and to keep the enormous scenery of the iron battleship in the ship.

In 2018, the Junta Central Fallera of Valencia, gives us the opportunity to make the show that gives the starting signal for the fallas. We quickly got down to work! Soon, we found the perfect formula: A powerful videomapping and a lot of fire is the perfect way to let the world know the fallas.

To date, we have held La Crida for 6 consecutive years… Not so bad!

Among many of the special events we have organised, we can highlight the show we designed in Lorca to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Teatro Guerra. A big party with acrobatics, big structures, audiovisual projections, a powerful sound and light show, pyrotechnics and a big birthday cake!

That day the wind was terrible, so much so that just a few moments before the start of the show, we even considered suspending the show for safety reasons. The magic of the theatre meant that just as the show was about to start, the wind died down and we were able to put on the show.

This type of commissions have been recurrent in LA FAM. Many city councils and festivals have asked us for tailor-made shows, among others, that same year, we also celebrated the 30th anniversary of the MIM in Sueca! A commission that made us especially excited because of the complicity that we have always had with the festival.

In January 2020, we started rehearsals for our new production: Mr. Blue Sky, but a few weeks later the pandemic broke out and forced us to stop production. In October of the same year, we managed to open the show.

It was an exciting process of creation, full of modifications in order to comply with strict health regulations, but with the full conviction that we should not stop creating and with the satisfaction of having succeeded.

In 2020, when the pandemic breaks out, everything becomes more complicated. Major events suffer restrictions and the instability of our sector is at its maximum. So much so that, 6 days before the Three Kings Cavalcade, an order of suspension arrives at the Valencia City Council. With everything organised! We immediately decided to reinvent the parade and transform it into a big show in the bullring of Valencia for a reduced capacity but with a powerful audiovisual broadcast.

The installation has to be done immediately, everything has to be adapted, but… Only 6 days to go!

The challenge was tremendous, and the result was extraordinary. A beautiful spectacle was created out of nothing. Giant elements appeared and disappeared from the bullring, some flying, others pushed by actors and volunteers… more than 20 theatre companies and 800 actors and extras transformed the bullring into a unique stage to welcome the Three Kings.

True to our ideals, at Christmas 2022, we created a new cultural offer for Valencia: La Central and Expedició València.

La Central is an open-air Christmas park with a varied artistic programme and installations complemented by Expedició València, the main attraction, a visit to the Kings’ royal camp where gifts, letters, sweets, coal… are stored. A show designed for the city of Valencia that attracted more than 50,000 spectators in the first edition.

Without a doubt, Achilles has become our most international show. With it we have travelled to Hungary to open a puppet festival, to France for the Nice Carnival, to Portugal, Belgium, Italy, Austria, Andorra… and Mexico! and Mexico!

The Querétaro Experimental Festival invited us to be part of the programme with our giant and there we went on another adventure. An adventure especially because of the transport, as Achilles travelled halfway around the world in a completely disassembled plane to Querétaro. The experience was marvellous!
